The first Strategic Plan of EAFF (2008-2011) came to an operational end on 31st December 2011. Therefore, there was need for EAFF to develop a new strategic plan to provide strategic guidance to its operations.
The (2008-2011) Strategic Plan was aimed at advocacy for visibility and policy articulation. In this second Strategic Plan, EAFF needs to make strategic decisions to guide its operations so that it can effectively respond to the demands of its stakeholders. This Strategic Plan is about innovation to enable it anticipate the future and prepare for it. EAFF needs to be better prepared to address current global trends while also critically analysing its internal issues including membership dynamics.
The following four pillars were consequently approved as the main drivers for this new Strategic plan:
- Pillar 1: Economic Service Delivery
- Pillar 2: Participation in Policy Processes
- Pillar 3: Institutional Development and sustainability and
- Pillar 4: Knowledge Management (cross cutting pillar) covering information, Monitoring and Evaluation, Communication, Documentation and Dissemination.
