1st Vice President
Mr. Gilbert Nyandwi is a renowned farmer leader and cooperative development advocate from Burundi with extensive experience in sustainable agriculture, farmer organization leadership, and cooperative governance. An agroecological farmer managing diversified agricultural enterprises, he has dedicated his career to promoting environmentally sustainable farming and strengthening market access for smallholder farmers.
Mr. Nyandwi currently serves as President of the Confederation of Agricultural Producers’ Associations for Development (CAPAD) and First Vice President of the Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF). He is also President of the Banana Interprofessional Organization of Burundi and a Board Member of the National Agency for the Promotion and Regulation of Cooperatives (ANACOOP). Through his leadership at national, regional, and international levels, he has championed farmer empowerment, cooperative development, and sustainable agricultural transformation across Eastern Africa.
