EAFF unites and strengthens farmer organisations across Eastern Africa, championing innovation, sustainability, and farmer-led solutions to drive agricultural transformation, food security, and climate resilience.

The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) in collaboration with Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA), is implementing a project to showcase best practice examples of farmer-led adaptation in managing the negative impacts of climate change on agriculture.

Rising temperatures in Eastern Africa lead to heat stress in livestock, resulting in reduced feed intake, reproductive issues, and decreased productivity. Frequent droughts worsen water scarcity, affecting animal health. Climate change also spreads livestock diseases like Rift Valley fever by expanding habitats for disease-carrying vectors, posing risks to both animals and humans.

Report of the IGC-IDACA Survey on Grains Market Information in Asia, Oceania and Africa

The survey aims to support sustainable development in the production, processing, and trade of grains, oilseeds, and pulses, while enhancing global food security. It focuses on building capacity to empower farmers and stakeholders, strengthen their roles in the value chain, and revitalise rural communities. The main objective is to identify challenges and opportunities in achieving food security within these sectors.

EAFF recognizes the potential of Africa’s farmers to lead in building resilient and sustainable agriculture. Farmers are already adapting to climate change through innovation, proving they are not just recipients of support but active agents of climate action and change.
