As compared to previous CoP where agriculture was even not on the agenda,  the parties  in Durban have  agree to make a decision on agriculture at CoP 18. This is less than most people hoped for, which is to have a specific work programme on agriculture.  However, as result of  tremendous technical and advocacy and lobby work  made by  agricultural stakeholders, the UNFCCC  Subsidiary Board of Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) has now agriculture officially on its agenda.
